Home HydroEpic Testimonials
I have been surfing with my new Hydro Epic 7'8" Brewer for a while now
and I can say the board is nothing short of amazing! Like most boards,
it is sensitive to the type of fins you screw in and one needs to find
and "dial in" for this before it really performs to your liking. What I really like about this
board is that it is fast and makes the critical sections that I take
off on. It is stable while keeping it's manuverability and sticks in
the wave without being sluggish in any way. Oh and by "stick", I mean
it holds where you want it to be on a critical face while doing
floaters or coming back off the lip. It is just a pleasure to surf on
and I will be surfing on it for a long time! Your AeroFlex technology honestly
works with all the other engineering that went into the board. Yes, it
is a real joy to ride and I do have to thank Hydro Epic for bringing
this new technology to my surfing!

I
just got home and was able to get in the water today and try the board
[9-6 Hydro Epic shaped by Steve Walden]. This is probably the best
board I’ve ever ridden...it does so much more than a regular poly...it
nose rides better, speeds into turns and comes off rebounds like its
not even touching the water...very impressed with its design and stoked
to be riding it... It is really responsive on sharp turns and
accelerates from top to bottom on the wave. It is by far the best
noserider I've ever ridden...not to mention that it feels like it won't
ding as easily as a foam board...if there is anything at all about the
board i worry about is if it breaks, and i know i will break one...I’m
determined to! [Editor’s note:! Pro riders do break a lot of boards,
but you’ll have to work pretty hard to do it. Good Luck, Jeff]
I will be using it in the Quicksilver Championships and the US Open
coming up real soon...so expect to be seeing some shots of the board in
some upcoming mags...

When
I went looking for new boards for me and my wife, I was surprised to see
that board technology had advanced so far. When I saw the Hydro Epic
hollow core composites, I knew they were the boards to have! You guys
are obviously on the cutting edge with your use of Kevlar and carbon
composites and the AeroFlex internal stringer design. My brother-in-law
is an Indy car engineer and when he looked at your website, he said the
primary chassis structure of an Indy car is fabricated with the same
materials you use in the Hydro Epics. The benefits of being "lighter
and stronger" are obvious.
Then we met you and were blown away when you took the time to
personally give us a tour of your factory, and let us pick our boards
right off the assembly line! Man, I can't tell you how much I
appreciate doing business with you guys... Thanks for outstanding
customer service in taking the time to meet with us and answering all
our questions. You and your company are top notch and you can count on
having a presence on the Oregon coast, especially when others see these
boards. They are almost too beautiful to surf, but don’t worry, we WILL
be hitting the beach with them!
You guys ROCK! Keep pushing the envelope!

You
make a great surfboard. I have a dozen boards and this is my favorite
by far. It paddles great, turns of a dime and holds on the face of the
wave like glue. I'll take some pictures and email them to you as soon
as I can.
Thanks again.

I'm
stoked on my new Hydro Epic longboard, I've been surfing longboards
for over 30 years. Your board out performs any longboard Ive ever
ridden!
1st the board is so light, I was actually able to duck dive it in 2/4ft
surf. 2nd I was able to hit the lip and come back without perling. Or
when I did perl I was able to pull through the perl and continue
riding, something like you can do on a short board. Lastly, really like
the feeling of riding a hollow board. It really glides through the surf
- how I like to surf - smooth @ flowing cool babie.
Aloha...

Yes
! I have been well taken care of by you folks at Hydro Epic. Took my NEW
board out Wednesday in head high surf. C-c-c-c-cold.....but waves were
very clean and consistent.
Had a great time for 4 hours. My 9.1 Hydro Epic is a fabulous surfboard. Does everything I want... it almost reads my mind.
Thank you for your excellent customer service, and I hope you all have a prosperous 2005!

Hey
guys, i wanted to tell you that i am really impressed with this Brewer
7-8 hybrid shape powered by Hydro Epic. i just picked it up at the
surfexpo Sunday and rode it yesterday and today in waist high Sebastian
inlet surf. it handles great. this is the shortest board i have ridden
in 10 years. i usually ride a 9'10" and a 10'6".
i had no trouble getting up or hitting the lip with this thing. it
paddles like a dream, and it's very fast. As i said earlier, i haven't
riddin a short board in years, so i am stoked that I am able to surf so
well on this board.
i will send in pics as soon as i find a digital camera. also wanted to
say that everyone in the booth at the expo was great, pete, scott,
donna and all.
Thanks again,
Butch Friedman
Today
I waxed up my new "Hydro Epoch" 9.1 Longboard" and headed to the coast
with my buddies. Everyone at the beach was curiously inquisitive about
this futuristic wave vehicle in my possession. The predominant question
in my mind was..."Can I even ride this thing, and will it really work ?"
The first wave I went for answered both questions immediately. This is
without question the closest I have ever found to the "Perfect
Surfboard" ! And I have been "researching" since 1966 ! I have never
adapted to a new board so quickly and smoothly as I did today with the
"Hydro Epoch". If I were to say there was any transition at all, it
would be... from where I have been...to what I could only describe
as...the "future of surfing".
A few observations about the "Hydro Epoch".....
1. Such a light board at 11 pounds requires less effort to get into waves.
2. This means more energy to surf longer!
3. At age 54, this means I can outlast most guys 15 years younger than me.
( As I did today, during my 4 hour session ! )
4. It catches waves easier than any board I own,and I have a bunch !
5. It turns and responds with with fluid precision...every time !
And the numbers for this board are so right on. I must confess, I don't
really understand the all technical aspects of the honeycomb and
composite technology or the channels running through the tail, but, they
work ! I have a couple of quality boards on my rack out in the shop
which I plan to sell so I can order a 2nd "Hydro Epoch" surfboard very
soon ! Dude, the future of surfing is now !!
Thank you for the personal touch re. my order which sets you apart from
the rest of Americas' Surfboard Manufacturers, as does your
'frontrunner' product.
Best regards,
